When you enter any premises, it becomes the responsibility of the premises owner to make a safe environment for the guests. Hotels are no exception, and hotel management has to create a secure environment for their visitors. The case comes under premises liability if you are injured in the hotel.

Injuries in hotels may be difficult to prove under personal injury claims because if the injury occurs in a private hotel room, it becomes difficult to establish the injury. So, in such cases, you must be aware of the injuries that can occur in hotels to make the claiming procedure more accessible for you. Click here to learn how to claim compensation for premises liability cases.

What injuries can take place in hotels?

    • Injuries in public parts of the hotels: When an injury occurs in the public parts of the hotels, it is easier to claim because you might have proof of such injuries and mistakes by the hotel. For instance, if the lights on the stairways are dim and you cannot see, which causes you to fall and have injuries, it is easier to claim compensation in such cases. You can consult your lawyer to claim compensation for you under premises liability. The hotel has to pay compensation as it was their duty to light up the stairways properly so that no visitor faces any issues while using the stairs.
    • Injuries in hotel rooms: These injuries are more complex to prove because the hotel management can quickly call the injury a fault of the guest. But if there are injuries that are a mistake by the hotel management, then you can claim the compensation easily. For instance, if the cleaning was not proper in your room before you checked in and when you entered the room, you have an injury due to a small broken glass piece, then in such cases, it is difficult to prove the injury.
    • Injuries that occur due to break-ins or guest violence: It is the responsibility of the hotels to ensure that there is no injury to the guests due to dangerous people. They have to ensure that no such people enter the hotel who tend to pose a danger to the guests. If an injury is due to another guest, the victim can claim compensation from the hotel. However, they have to prove the case and responsibility of the hotel.
